I am Beyoncé.
This year I've gotten into the habit of setting my intentions for the day before I get out of bed while I wiggle my limbs and speak my gratitude (if you haven't tried this, I HIGHLY recommend it). My intention today was to attend a local event that's been on my calendar all week. Although I've been looking forward to attending, as I crawled out of bed and met the cool morning air, the idea of a hibernation day started to sounded much better. And then it began. You know, the back and forth between what's on your heart to do and what your brain says to do.
I tried to rationalize ignoring my gut feeling....I could always attend the next event, plus my back was achy and I wanted to finish a few things for my upcoming workshop. {yes, even life coaches struggle with life sometimes, we're human too!} As I went back and forth for awhile, I suddenly had my decision and a surprising mantra for the day.
I am Beyoncé.
And so it is. I love "I AM" mantras because they bring you back to present moment and you start to own and embody what you choose to speak the more you repeat it. What we choose to say after the words "I AM" is exactly what we subconsciously start to believe and what we believe is what we attract like a magnet. Wondering why you're living the life you're living? Pay attention to your language and how you speak to yourself for just 24 hours and see what you find.
For today, I was able to use my inner fierceness to shift my mindset, had an absolute blast at the event and I'm grateful for 3 big reminders:
Living in fulfillment feels a heck of a lot better than living in comfortability. It was more comfortable for me to go back to bed but I felt more in alignment and connected by attending the event.
We can hibernate through our 86,400 seconds each day and make excuses or we can make the choice to rock this life and show up fully.
Pay attention to the nudges of life, they are the breadcrumbs leading you to your heart space.
Over to you...
Share in the comments, what do you use to help you shift your mindset when you're just not feeling it?
